In 1915, Hamilton Tigers won the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup by downing Toronto Rowing Association by a score of 13-7.

In 1947, at Westminster Abbey, Britain’s future queen, Princess Elizabeth, married Philip Mountbatten.

In 1975, after ruling Spain for almost 40 years, Generalissimo Francisco Franco died at age 82.

In 1985, Microsoft released the first version of its Windows operating system, Windows 1.0.

Former professional and national team soccer player Drew Ferguson has been inducted into the Soccer Hall of Fame of British Columbia, four years after receiving the same honour from the Powell River Sports Hall of Fame.

City of Powell River will attempt to secure additional funds from qathet Regional District sources to help fund Powell River Recreation Complex.
