A very special Christmas!

Amelia Klompas, Grade 5
James Thomson Elementary School

Once there was a mushroom. He was kind, funny and very excited for Christmas! This year he was hosting a Christmas tea. He's been preparing for weeks and it was finally time to invite his friends (with the mail).

The very next day they arrived for tea. They were all so excited for two reasons. For one it was Christmas tea, and for two it was Christmas Eve!

All Timmy the mushroom wanted for Christmas was a Santa hat and snow! His friends couldn't make it snow, of course, but a Santa hat, sure, and that was exactly what they did!

Santa's Trap

Ashland Bratseth, Grade 5
École Côte-du-Soleil

It was Christmas Eve, one of those nights that makes you want to curl up on the couch and drink hot chocolate. Ashland and Nelson were in their beds, their parents were asleep, but they weren't. They were going to trap Santa!

As soon as they heard their parents snoring, they grabbed the Christmas lights and a bell from under their bed and crept down the hallway to the living room. They attached the bell to the Christmas lights and strung them across the fireplace so that Santa would trip over the lights, the bell would ring, and they would wake up.

As soon as they were finished, they ran back to bed and closed their eyes. Two hours and thirty-seven minutes later: DING!

They shot up out of bed and went into the living room. There was Santa lying on the ground.

“Ouch!” said Santa. “I tripped and fell on all of my presents. Now, they are totally crushed!”

Ashland and Nelson glanced at each other. Nelson thought this is so our fault - we have to fix this!

Nelson said, “take our presents and deliver them to the kids who don't have presents yet. Sorry, Santa!”

With a wink of his eye, Santa was gone.

The kids went to bed sad, with no presents under the tree. In the morning, the kids woke up, went to the living room and saw piles of presents!

“Thank you, Santa!” they whispered.

The end.

Sarah's Christmas

Mattea Grace Gatt, Grade 5
Assumption School

Sarah woke up from her younger brother Jeffrey screaming, "Sarah! Wake up! It's Christmas."

It was 11:58 pm.

Jeffrey said, "We should go downstairs and see if we see Santa!"

They walked downstairs and they saw Santa drinking and eating their milk and cookies. Sarah and Jeffrey gasped and said at the same time, "Santa! Is that really you?"

Santa spoke up and said, "Yes, dear children, t'is I!”

They were so excited they fainted!

Santa said, "Abracadabra," and snapped his fingers.

They woke up in a second and Sarah said, "Mom, why'd you wake me up? I was having the best sleep in the world!"

Santa and Jeffrey start to laugh their heads off!

Sarah said, "Oh, hi again."

Santa and Jeffrey said "Hi," still snickering. It was 4:00 am, and they heard footsteps.

Sarah whispered, "It's my mom. She probably heard us talking, HIDE!"

Santa ducked behind the couch and disappeared and went to the North Pole. Jeffrey layed down under the coffee table. Sarah hid under the stairs.

Sarah's mom said, "Hmmm, okay I'lI catch you next time.”

When Sarah's mom went back to bed, Sarah yelled, "Everyone, come out of their hiding place!" and Santa came back from the North Pole.

Sarah said, "Phew! That was a close one!"

Jeffrey said, "SHE LOOKED AT ME! I SWEAR."

It was now 6:00 am and it was starting to snow.

Santa said, "I need to go deliver more presents, see you next year kids!"

They said together at the same time, "Bye Santa!"

He waved and left.

Rudolf’s Landing

Pheenix Cudmore, Grade 5
Henderson Elementary School

Once upon a time, there was a reindeer named Rudolph. He hated being bullied.

He was bullied a lot by the other reindeer because he was different. He had a big

shiny red nose. He just wanted to play with the other reindeer.

One night Santa came up and said, "Do you want to fly my sleigh tonight?"

Rudolph loved that situation. He got put on a sleigh and he hit the road to all the houses.

The first roof he landed on was a rough landing, but he made it. The second roof he landed on, the landing was a little better. He finished dropping presents and Santa to all the houses. By that time his landing was perfect.

When he got back from dropping off Santa the other reindeer wanted to talk and play with him. Now he was cool because he flew Santa's sleigh. They all wanted to be his buddy now.

To begin with, Rudolph reminded them they should work as a team. At the same time Rudolph said that everyone deserves to feel safe. Most importantly we do not want to be sad.

After that they learned they should always be nice and they all played together and got along.
