North Pole Olympics

Jack Illing, Grade 7
Kelly Creek Community School

Every year on the first day of December, the North Pole holds the North Pole Olympics for all species across the North Pole, including the elves.

The first event was sledding with an elf and a polar bear. The elf had a customized sled while the polar bear was just going on his stomach down the ice.

The race started and the elf took a quick lead but then the polar bear caught up and won. The polar bear gets the gold medal.

Next event was wrapping. The elf that could wrap the fastest won. The contestants are elf 1 and elf 2. The wrapping started and elf 1 was going at lightning speed and won the gold medal.

The next event was flying with Santa's magic between the reindeer. The first reindeer was Dancer, the second was Dasher and last but not least, Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer.

They were all at the starting line then they started, and Rudolf took a quick lead, then Dancer passed Rudolf with Dasher in pursuit. Then Dasher quickly overtook both and won the gold medal.

The last event was running and there were three contestants. A polar bear, Prancer the reindeer and an elf with customized rocket shoes. It was a quick race because the elf had rocket shoes. That concluded the North Pole Olympics.

The Game

Cash Brander, Grade 7
Kelly Creek Community School

The ref dropped the puck, and the game was on! Wait a minute. You're probably wondering what I'm talking about.

Well, two nights ago, two teams got in a fight at the rink and now they are battling it out on Christmas Eve. All of it is over some ferry tickets so they can get back home for Christmas. So, now that you're all caught up, let's get back to the game.

The puck has been dropped and the Beagles have it. They’re on their way up the boards getting past everyone and passing back and forth. And there's a pass in front of the net and it's a GOAL! 1-0 for the Beagles.

Now the Ravens have got the puck and are bringing it up the centre, and suddenly out of nowhere, somebody from the Beagles knocked one of the Ravens off his feet.

“Penalty!” yelled the ref.

The Ravens got the puck back in position. A pass goes up the boards then that guy dekes out three people at once and passes up in front, and GOAL! The crowd goes wild with 17 seconds left on the clock. It's a tie game!

In the end they had to split the tickets and they all made it home for Christmas with their families. The end.

Winter Fun

Kai DeWolfe, Grade 7
Kelly Creek Community School

One cold winter night when it was 30 below

Everywhere you looked was covered in snow.

The pond turned to ice right in the nick of time

I love skating so much it's a great joy of mine.

We tied up our skates and hit the ice

Hot chocolate in our cups, it felt so nice.

Then we grabbed our sticks and dropped the puck

I was playing with my friend Joe, his favourite team is the Canucks.

Having so much fun with our winter spirit

Then mom called us in, we played to our limit.

I love winter so much it always makes my year

With everyone happy and full of cheer.

So get out this year and have some winter fun

With all of your friends and all your loved ones.

The Magic Gift

Makayla Cote, Grade 7
École Côte du Soleil

There is a magic gift where there is a magical reindeer inside  the gift. The reindeer told naughty kids to hop onto its back.

The reindeer only went to the really naughty kids and the reindeer was to bring the children to the North Pole, where Santa would teach them to be good kids.

So Santa made them work really hard making gifts. At the end of the day, Santa and his elves made hot cocoa and read them stories and ate cookies with them but only if they did a good job at helping out at the North Pole.

Below Santa’s house there were a bunch of gifts, and on Christmas night, the reindeer safely brought them home to the reformed kids’ beds and tucked them in safely. That year, they got presents instead of coal because they helped out at the North Pole.
