In memoriam: Don Mackenzie

September 28, 1939 – June 15, 2022
Don MacKenzie

In loving memory...

It is with profound sadness that the family of Don Mackenzie announces his passing on the 15 of June 2022. He was predeceased by his loving wife June and son Joe (Joseph).

Don is survived by his daughter Lenore Marko; grandchildren Olivia Marko, Ilonia and Jarodin Berg; great-grandchildren Norman and Dawson; sister Merrilyn Jones and family of Nanaimo and Victoria; and many more relatives in Ontario and Manitoba.

Don moved his family out west from Thunder Bay to Powell River in 1970 to work for MacMillan Bloedel. He worked for the company for over 30 years.

Don enjoyed travelling and fishing. Mom and dad, upon retirement, also enjoyed woodworking and spending their weekend at the farmers' market selling their treasures.

The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Van Zyl of Powell River, Dr. Kerrie De Witt of Port Alberni, all the homecare support team who assisted dad and all the staff at PRGH and WCGH.

Special thanks to the staff at Ty Watson House for the care and dignity for dad. There will be a funeral service at Church of the Assumption on Tuesday, August 23, at 11 am.
