In memoriam: Edward McKew

1936 -1952
Edward McKew

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dad, Ed McKew, on September 15, 2022.

Ed was predeceased by his beloved Kathy, brothers Harland and Richard, sister Margaret, and longtime companion Marg. He is survived and dearly missed by his children Heather (Richard), David and Megan (Scott); granddaughters Stevie (Aaron), Laura (Elliott) and Rachel (Matt); and great-grandson little Arthur.

Ed was born in Beausejour, Manitoba, in 1936. From Pine Falls, Manitoba, in 1962, he brought his bride Kathy and young family to Powell River to work as a machinist in the MacMillan Bloedel pulp and paper mill.

Ed loved his house, cats, gardening (famous for his tomatoes), hunting, building beautiful wood furniture, and touring the country in his truck and camper. Those who knew Ed, knew that he was a very colorful guy who "loved" to talk and had the best "smile."

Our special thanks go to the wonderful staff at Evergreen ECU. We feel truly blessed that our dad was surrounded by and cared for by such amazing, thoughtful and caring people who are definitely angels in our eyes! You are forever in our hearts.

Please consider donations to the Alzheimer Society of BC. We love you, Dad.
