In memoriam: Margaret “Trudy” McCracken

May 15, 1933 - August 14, 2022
Margaret McCracken

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our mom, nana, great-nana and friend, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by husband Dave; daughter Karen Botel; parents Cliff and Lil Lynn; sister Betty Tomada; brothers Albert, Bob and Kenny Lynn; and son-in-law Greg Larkin.

Trudy was the matriarch of the family and leaves behind her children Cathy (Harry), Wendy (Brian), Gerry (Cynthia) and Mickey (Tracy), son-in-law Tom Botel, along with ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed.

Trudy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and moved with her parents to Powell River in 1946, where she went to Brooks School. She met Dave and they were married in December 1954, and together they raised five children. She was a loving and devoted stay-at-home mom, who later pursued a 27-year career as a government agent. She was a very active member of several organizations in the community and made some great lifelong friendships. She was a strong and independent woman who looked after herself, her family and her friends.

The family would like to thank Drs. Rossouw and Uhlmann, home support staff, PRGH staff, FreshCo Pharmacy and her many friends, who gave constant support over the last few years.

Service to be held at the Salvation Army Church on Saturday, August 27, at 1 pm.
