Olive Jean Biles (née Thomson) was born and raised in a little house at 39th and Ontario Street in Vancouver.

She graduated from Van Tech and worked as a hairdresser for a time. Then, from that same southeast Vancouver neighbourhood, she met the love of her life, Bill Biles, who was immediately smitten by the little girl with the sunny smile.

The two married and lived in Powell River, Richmond and West Vancouver, raising a family of four kids: Bill (Lori), Brian, Bruce (Johneen) and Sara (Dave). The family grew to include five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Once retired, Bill and Olive moved back to Powell River but managed to remain close to us all. Always happy as a stay-at-home wife and mother, Olive made precious friends anytime she ventured out to watch a soccer game, attend a concert, bowl in the local league or play a round of golf. That sunny smile was contagious, and people loved to watch it shine. We all miss her dearly.

The family extends grateful thanks to Dr. Krickan and the staff at Sechelt Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.
