One thing you can always count on in life is a change.
Nobody could have predicted the whole world would change with people having to stay isolated from family and friends, as well as cancel trips and events because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
But we adjusted; we didn’t have any other choice. Maybe as a society, we have too many choices that contribute to our overwhelm and lack of motivation to change the quality of our lives.
No doubt that change is hard, but not impossible. We might have a desire to change our unhealthy habits, but with the first encounter of a difficult situation, we tend to quit. I have been there and done that.
Many of us are questioning the meaning of life. Your meaning in life gives you purpose and sets the direction of how you want to live your life. Without meaning you will spend the rest of your life wandering aimlessly with no direction, focus, or purpose.
Set goals to achieve your dreams. Once you know what and who is important in your life and what your dream life looks like, you need to take daily action.
Whether the change involves your home, health, or finances, it will take time and commitment to achieve the desired success. We might start to change our bad habits with small spurts of success, but how do we sustain positive change?
I just love this quote: "You’re always one decision away from a different life.”
So, knowing this, now you can make that decision and end the life of just existing. Here are three simple steps that might help you with your journey to a better life:
1. Evaluate the condition of your home. Is it organized, clean and functioning? Does anything need to be fixed, thrown out or donated?
2. Evaluate the relationship with your family. How is everybody doing? Can you make improvements to the way you interact with each other?
3. Evaluate your health. Pay attention to your physical and mental health. How stressed are you and why?
This evaluation of your life is a building block to the life you desire. In this area, we all have a choice and control how we are going to live our lives. Organizing and cleaning your home is a way of taking care of you and your family.
Start the change by doing small chores and finishing the neglected projects. Schedule 30 minutes to finish each selected job. Routine and commitment are two ingredients we need to live a simple and productive life.
We all have regrets and wish we didn’t do the things that negatively affect our lives. If you spend all your time thinking about the past, you will miss the present and the future. You cannot change what you did or did not do in the past, so let it go. The only thing you have control over is now and how you choose to live your present and future life.
