A 1930 McLaughlin-Buick that qathet region resident Stan Gisborne restored and drove for about 100 miles in the community and on Vancouver Island is nearing the end of an 11,500-mile journey to its new owner in the Czech Republic.
Last week it arrived in the port city of Bremerhaven, Germany. Gisborne's wife Jan, a former Canadian customs officer, went onto a vessel tracker website recently and discovered the ship on which the car travelled across the Atlantic Ocean had docked just minutes before.
The Peak published a story about the vehicle and some history of the company that built it last month.
