PHOTOS: Memento Mori Festival at qathet Art Centre

Participating artists artists shared their inspirations at an open house

qathet Art Centre recently hosted an everyone welcome reception to celebrate artists showcased as part of the recent 2022 Memento Mori Festival.

Exhibits featured artwork of multiple mediums found from recycled and natural material; the theme was lost and endangered species. Participating artists had a chance to speak about their art pieces to those in attendance, including the inspiration behind their work.

Memento Mori was a multi-component, month-long festival including workshops on death and dying for caregivers, aerial performances, group art exhibition, storytelling, collective shrine-making, film screening, panel conversations and maker workshops.

Participating artists included Venus Soberanes, Teresa Harwood-Lynn, Ursula Medley, Rick Giesing, Benjamin Fairless, James Tyrwhitt-Drake, Paula Galloway, Courtney Galloway, Richard Armstrong, Nina Mussellam, Kate Matthews, Brett Jasch, Louise Gloslee, Candace Parker, Luke Ramsey, Arne Gutmann, Michelle Gibson, Solene Chatain, Angie Davey, Chris Roberts, Bruce Bott, Annie Simms and Kathryn Neun.
