Peak carriers and family members recently joined staff at an appreciation barbecue under the Rotary Pavilion at Willingdon Beach.
“We appreciate the efforts and dedication of our carriers and drivers who ensure messages from local businesses in our print editions, as well as the latest news, makes it to doorsteps and dropboxes thoughout the qathet region in a timely fashion; this wouldn’t work without them," said Peak publisher Kelly Keil. “We’ve had carriers of all ages over the years. We are grateful to all of the youth and adults for their contributions."
Keil says the number of Peak carriers since the paper started publishing in 1995 is literally “in the thousands,” and for many young people, it was their first job.
The gathering, which included Peak bingo for those in attendance, took place on Saturday, September 9.
