A gathering was held in Townsite on November 11 in recognition of Remembrance Day, hosted by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 - Powell River.

Following a service inside Dwight Hall, veterans, cadets, first responders and members of qathet region community organizations marched to the cenotaph in Veteran’s Memorial Park for a ceremony that included two minutes of silence, placing of wreaths and a salute to veterans.

Area residents were also on hand in and around the park to pay their respect to fallen soldiers, as well as those who served and continue to serve their country.
