CHARITY OF CHOICE: Volunteer Powell River (VPR), Powell River and District United Way, First Credit Union and Powell River Peak teamed up for VPR’s annual volunteer recognition project in April.
Volunteers were nominated and showcased at unitedwayofpowellriver.ca/volunteer-recognition.html.
All submissions were entered into a draw, which was won by Mar Grantham [second from right].
One prize was a $500 donation to a charity of her choice; she chose Powell River Professional Firefighters Charitable Society and recently presented a cheque to [from left] captain Mark Peckford, coordinator/public educator Tricia Greenwood and firefighter Mitch Green.
First Credit Union representative Caitlin Bryant [centre] was also on hand for the presentation.
