HAMPER HELPERS: When pallets of food purchased at Save-On-Foods were recently delivered by Texada Transfer, Powell River Kings representatives Brock Sawyer and Nadine Porchetta [centre], and Powell River and District Christmas Cheer committee president Geri Andersonhelped with the unloading process.
The food items will be divided into hundreds of food hampers, which are destined for needy families in the community on December 15.
Applications for food hampers are being received at various locations in Powell River until Friday, November 30.
Powell River and District Christmas Cheer relies on donations to fund the community effort.
Cheques can be mailed to the committee treasurer at 7318 Glacier Street, Powell River, BC V8A 5V2, c/o Cherrie Hunter.
Charitable receipts will be provided for contributions of $20 or more.
