At approximately 2:49 pm on December 14, Powell River Search and Rescue (PRSR) notified Powell River RCMP about a lost hiker near Inland Lake.
PRSR was deployed and the hiker was found without incident.
Powell River RCMP and PRSR are reminding residents to stay safe while hiking, especially in extreme weather conditions. Hikers are asked to: check the weather in advance; bring warm clothing; bring enough food and water; share their itinerary with someone at home; bring their phone; plan for an emergency; and not hike alone.
