[From right] Lee Chen, Kim Chen and their daughter Pei Chen moved to the qathet region from Malaysia in 1995, and opened Golden Gate Variety Store, located on 4706 Marine Avenue.
They are closing this weekend (very unusual for them) to celebrate the Lunar New Year with family visiting from Vancouver. This family run business has provided the community with a wide variety of spices and foods from all over the Asian continent for decades.
Year of the Rabbit begins Sunday, January 22, and is celebrated until February 9.
