As part of a continued focus to have quality internet service available in the region, qathet Regional District (qRD) is inviting residents to participate in a broadband internet connectivity survey, which will support the qRD Connectivity Plan – The Last Mile.
According to a media release, this survey will help identify the levels of service required throughout the region and help determine the types of servicing options available.
The online survey is available at surveymonkey.com/r/Driftwood-Qrd-Survey and will be open for responses until January 15, 2021. Paper surveys are available for download at qathet.ca.
According to the release, completed paper surveys can be scanned and emailed to [email protected]. Respondents may also mail physical copies to Driftwood Communications at 6800 Veyaness Road, Saanichton, BC, V8M 2A8, or drop off completed surveys at local collection locations. The project is supported through grant funding from the Island Coastal Economic Trust.
Completion of the Internet Connectivity – Last Mile Plan will be on or before June 30, 2021. Upon completion, the regional board will be presented with strategies and costs for bridging the connectivity gaps in the region.
