Westview Elementary School students, including [from left] Tristan Peake, grade seven, Drew Shelton, grade seven, Tai Brown, grade six, and Linden Slack, grade six, recently took part in a project where grade six and seven classes were challenged to construct a weight-bearing table, which needed to be freestanding and 20 centimetres high, using only a role of masking tape and eight sheets of newspaper.
The winning team [not pictured], comprised of grade seven students Natasha Lukianchuk and Audrey Behan, and grade six student Chenoa McIntyre made a table that could support the weight of 17 books.
The winners each received a prestigious "wagon wheel" medal for their achievement.
