Student Life: Returning to school after spring break

Student Life

I hope students have enjoyed the spring break and, as it is coming to an end, I’d like to point out that there may be a sense of anxiety creeping in.

The reason for this, perhaps, is because we know there will be plenty of stress and the tension will be higher since summer is fast approaching and we must complete all our assignments.

Just as with any time off, we never want it to end.

There can always be some boredom that lingers. For those of us who were bored over spring break, going back to school will bring us plenty more to do, as well as after-school activities that will start up once again.

Yet when we have a period of time relatively stress free, it is something we would rather hang on to.

It is a hard transition, going from sitting back, enjoying your free time to being tossed back into the fast-paced life of high school. We know it’s coming, all the stress and early mornings. It is frightening and we can feel the tension begin to rise, yet, we only have a few more months until summer.

In the big picture, we should think of it as the final sprint. With the two weeks spring break has given us we should have had the time to prepare for our final stretch. It will take hard work and late nights, but we need to be determined.

Spring break was our chance catch up or recuperate and gather our energy. It is time we really push ourselves and finish with a bang.

If we stay focused and get our priorities straight, we have a better chance of keeping our grades secure when we finally leave for summer.
