Powell River Kings players, coaches and management, as well as Powell River Minor Hockey Association players and coaches representing midget, bantam, pee wee and atom rep teams recently joined together as one big hockey family at a ceremony honouring members of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team who died in a bus crash on Friday, April 6.
Hundreds of local hockey fans also came out in support of the afternoon gathering at Hap Parker Arena on Sunday, April 8.
Together, those in attendance raised $6,722 in donations, which the Kings will send to the Broncos organization to support individuals and families affected by the accident.
