Last September the Science World, On the Road team put on science based workshops for School District 45 on the lower Sunshine Coast.

Next month, students in qathet School District (qSD) will have a chance to visit Vancouver’s Science World without leaving their schools. From February 12 to 16, Science World’s travelling On The Road team is visiting qSD schools.

"After a successful tour to the Sunshine Coast last September, the On The Road team is continuing its outreach to schools in the qathet School District, which includes a ferry trip to Texada Island,” stated Science World program manager Stefano Giulianetti in a media release. “The program brings fun, high-energy live demonstrations and activities to communities all around the province that pique science curiosity, boost science literacy and inspire future science and technology leaders."

The purpose of the travelling program is to reach communities that are far from Vancouver with the goal of delivering fun science, technology, engineering, art/design and math (STEAM) experiences to people who may not otherwise be able to visit the geodesic dome that is Science World, located on City of Vancouver’s waterfront.
