At Willingdon Beach on the morning of Saturday, February 15, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Wild Ocean Whale Society conducted an exercise with an artificial whale, dealing with a simulated stranding.
The team on the Powell River beach used a coordinated approach to attach floats to the whale and get it back to the water.
The marine mammal stranding/refloatation training exercise drew onlookers as passersby stopped to view the proceedings.
