Powell River artist Adam Cramb will be showing his current work during the month of September at Vancouver Island University. The show is entitled “Contemporary Practices” and consists of a colourful collection of work that expresses the effects of modern day life.
Cramb has been selected to the Grand Prix de la Decouerte International Exhibition in Paris, France and he is currently taking part in his second exhibit at the Los Angeles Centre for Digital Art. He has exhibited at the Canadian Federation Gallery in Vancouver and was selected for a solo show at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt next summer.
His creative process links the composition of his colouful world with the effects of modern day life on the creation of art.
Cramb says that his influences have been Diego Rivera, Freda Kalo and Jackson Pollock. “I like my work to ask questions and for the viewer to want to know more about my work,” he said.
There will be an opening reception from 7 9 pm on Thursday, September 5. Everyone is welcome to attend. The show will hang until October 1.
