Author launches fourth book

Couple travels in spite of finances

Barb and Dave Rees leave on May 16 on their fifth working holiday around Canada. Their destination this year is Newfoundland Labrador.

This 67- and 70-year-old couple have inspired people across Canada since 2003 with their belief that dreams can come true in spite of inadequate income. Books, brandied blackberry sauce, power rocks and fused glass jewellery sales will help keep the Rees’s rig on the road to Newfoundland and back.

Their latest book, RV Canada and the Polar Bear Dream, tells stories of their 2011 Western Canada adventures to Churchill, Manitoba, and introduces readers to fascinating Canadian characters and places. It will be launched at 7 pm on Thursday, April 18 at Breakwater Books and Coffee with their travel show Bears, Berries and Breakdowns. “It’s sure to make you laugh, make you cry and keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what else could befall these two brave souls,” said Barb.

She has published five books since 2003, taking them on various road trips around Canada. A Métis travel writer, Barb has written for Canadian and American magazines. She is passionate about helping others with their writing and speaking skills, and inspiring them to be all they can be, to follow their dreams.
