A call for artists whose work is related to aviation has been issued by organizers of the annual Texada Island Fly-In festival, July 21.
“Any artist who engages in aviation art of any sort is invited to attend the fly-in to exhibit and to sell their work for a nominal fee,” said festival organizer Doby Dobrostanski. This includes digital or film photography, aviation videography, sculpture, embroidery or quilting, folk art or crafts, drawings in ink, charcoal, pencil or Conté and paintings in all media.
The aviation exhibition is a new feature of the fly-in, now in its seventh year. Typically the event attracts airplane aficionados from throughout southern BC who fly in, as well as visitors who arrive by land and ferry.
The registration form to participate can be found online or by calling Dobrostanski at 604.486.0334. The deadline for registration is June 30.
