Happy Christmas

Once upon a time, there was a small reindeer, Rudolph’s daughter, and her name was Luna.

Unlike the other reindeer, she had a very unusual, unrhyming name. She was all black with white hooves, a shiny blue nose (like the moon), and a white diamond on her forehead. And every day, the other reindeer would laugh and call her names.

“Haha! Luna’s nose is frozen. It’s like the ice under our hooves.”

She took all the bad things that they would tell her, and she would write them down and turn them into a song. The songs were beautiful and magical, so magical that they summoned Mrs. Claus, who barely ever left the house. She stood there in front of her while Luna sang all her songs with her eyes closed. She didn’t even notice that Mrs. Claus was there the whole time.

“Huh? Mrs. Claus? But you never leave the house,”said Luna.

“Well, I heard your singing, and the songs were so magical and beautiful that I just had to hear them all,” said Mrs. Claus.

“But why me? Prancerella was prancing around to a song and you never went to go see her.”

Luna sat down in confusion.

“Santa is retiring for a few years, so how would you like to be the Rudolf on the sleigh tonight?”

Luna happily accepted Mrs Claus’s offer. So if you hear singing on Christmas Eve, just know that it is Luna singing in the night.

Merry Christmas!

Mission: Save Christmas

Max Martineau
École Côtedu Soleil

Two kids named Bobby and Diana were playing. After they were done, they went inside and noticed that their parents were missing.
As they searched, they discovered a portal. They looked in to find a red slush, Evil Santa’s trail! They had no choice but to go in, so they grabbed some warm clothing and a few water guns.

Once they had entered, they saw a sign pointing to the real Santa’s workshop. However, some of Evil Santa’s elves had overrun it. They decided to sneak in through a back window.

Once inside, they saw Santa crying. They noticed Santa was hiding something.

Santa said, “It is an orb that someone named Bobby and Diana must drop in Evil Santa’s volcano.”

Both exclaimed, “That would be us!”

The volcano was on the other side of the North Pole, but it was guarded by some evil elves, and the kids could not find a way past them. So they made a plan. Since Diana was faster than Bobby, the latter would distract them as Diana made a run for it.

Bobby shot at them with his water gun, and Diana cut and ran. Once Diana got to the volcano, she was shocked to see the millions of wrapped presents floating inside the magical magma.

She threw in the orb. The volcano erupted presents, meaning everybody could have a happy holiday.

Having saved Christmas, the children returned home, where they found their parents. They had been shopping all along!

It’s December twenty-second. The elves are racing to complete the rest of the presents. Suddenly, Santa enters the room.

"Hello my elves, how are the presen-" Santa trips down the stairs and starts bouncing around the room. "Help!" He screeches.
A group of elves catch him in a net. Mrs. Claus then wanders through the door. "Oh, Santa" she shrieks, " What has happened to you?"
"Nothing, I’m fine, " he responds angrily.
"No Santa, you are getting fat, you are in no way fit to deliver presents like this!" she declares, as if she is already done with Santa’s lies.
"You’re right," Santa whimpers.

The next day, Mrs Claus has woken up early. She has been preparing several weight-loss activities for the large man. She then goes to Santa’s room and pulls him out of bed.
"You are coming with me!" she exclaims to the poor lad. He jumps out of bed in shock and confusion.
"Follow me!" she wails. She then proceeds to drag the oversized elf along the cold, wooden floor.

She brings him outside and points toward a long obstacle course.

"You will complete these challenges before you get to eat again! " she squeals.

She stares with a look of disgust as the enormous man attempts to complete all of these simple activities. He is failing miserably.
Eventually, he finishes. He is starved to death and can barely stand up without collapsing, but he is now able to deliver presents.

Christmas saved!

The Missing Present

Tristan Somers

École Côte du Soleil

It was Christmas Eve. Santa was in his toyshop in the North Pole, checking the inventory.

“Bobby gets his action figure, Daisy gets her telescope, and Michael gets a lump of coal. Hohoho!” he chuckled. “Ah yes, everything is on schedule. Everybody is getting presents, or comeuppance, I might add. Hoho!”

Suddenly, the jolly man began to eye his list nervously.

“Oh my!” he yelped. “We forgot to get Sally the rocking-horse she so wanted!”

He walked to the elf directing it all.

“Excuse me,” he asked, tapping him on the shoulder. “We seem to have forgotten a present for miss Sally Caldwell,” he said nervously.

“Well, we were going to make her present,” the little elf responded, “but we ran out of materials.”

“We thought that one present wouldn’t matter, it’s just some random kid,” the elf mumbled with a bit of a tone.

Santa was speechless and furious.

“One lump of coal wouldn’t matter, one present is crucial!” he bellowed, raising his hands in the air and throwing his list away. “I’m going to get a piece of wood from the forest.”

And at that, Santa put his finger on his nose and vanished with a “Whoosh!”

Moments later, Santa came back with a wrapped, wooden rocking-horse in his hands. He then threw the present into the sleigh angrily.

The elves were astonished at his magical speed! That night, all of the good boys and girls got their present, even Sally Caldwell.
