Santa Chase

William Anderson
Henderson Elementary School

It was the night kids loved, the night cookies and milk hated. It was Christmas. The man in the red would come.

The three cookie brothers and milk waited in silence. Then they heard not “ho ho ho” but “ha ha ha ha!”

Santa stepped into the room. The chase was on!

Sent a cheese to the milk and cookies towards the bathroom. The cookies and milk helped but it didn’t work.

Santa quickly sniffed them out and it looked like the end. Then a bar of soap landed in Santas mouth, distracting him.

The cookie bro’s saw the plate helping them out. The family cat pronounced, nearly missing the milk! He was siding with Santa. The plate cut the cat with the broken edge from Thanksgiving. With a yowl, the cat leaped away.

Santa continued chasing them in the open space, then magically, Santa teleported in the way! The milk and cookies ran for the kitchen. Santa gained on them as they ran.

Santa repeatedly blocked them, using his powers, but the cookies and milk got away! The cutlery came out and got Santa into the oven. Santa busted up the cookies and milk formed a plan. They ran by the stockings.

When Santa stepped into the room, his eyes widened. He could not resist the urge to stuff the stockings. Then the ornaments, using the Christmas tree, knocked Santa up the chimney. He flew off.

The best part was that the milk and cookies were safe. Well at least this year they were.

What Christmas is to me

Piper Leahy McHugh
Edgehill Elementary School

The snow outside is coming down faster in the wind. As I open the Christmas decoration boxes the amazing smell of Christmas filled the room.

Then I open the next box and the next. By the end the whole house seems to smell of Christmas. Then another smell overtook the house. It was freshly baked cookies.

The smells hovered in the air and then got stronger. I took the very first decoration out of the box. It was my favourite, it was the nutcracker. My sister took out the next and soon we found the lights and ribbon.

Mom and dad helped us put the light and ribbon on the tree, then we hung each and every Christmas Tree decoration with care. Then dad got a chair so I could reach the top and he handed me the light angel to put on the top branch.

My sister lit up the tree and my mom went to turn the Christmas music on. Dad got the wreath-making supplies that mom bought the day before. I plugged in the hot glue guns then we all sat down and glued, bent and tied things together with tree branches, ribbon and twine. And soon we had a beautiful wreath to hang on the front door.

After we hung up the wreath we went inside. Dad made a fire and we gathered some pillows and blankets, then we sat by the fire.

The crazy Christmas

Evan James Penner
Assumption School

Once upon a time on Christmas Eve 2018, there were two teenagers that were both 17 and they were brother and sister named Aiden and Anna Nylobe.

The Nylobes live in Whitehorse Yukon, Canada. They were walking their dog Bo at 9:30 pm. Bo is a small corgi. At 9:45 pm out of the corner of her eye, Anna saw a bright flash with the loud scream yelling “AHHHHHOHOHOHOHO!!!!!!” landing at a nearby park.

Anna quickly told Aiden that she saw something land at Beaver Park. So they all quickly ran to Beaver Park. When they got to the park they heard a whole bunch of sleigh bells ringing and they also saw eight reindeer lying on the ground. Then they saw Santa.

Everyone is extremely surprised, even Bo was surprised that Santa was there. Aidan nervously asked Santa “Santa...are you OK?”

Then Santa popped up his head from the bottom of the seat and said “AIDEN, ANNA...BO!?” He said confused. “What happened.”

“I think you crashed at Beaver Park field,” said Anna.

Santa worriedly said, “my speed meter is missing. I can’t deliver presents fast unless I have my speed meter.”

“Can we help you find it Santa?” said Aiden. “Yes please, thank you.”

They were all looking for the speed meter for about one hour, then Aiden felt Bo pulling harder than he has ever. Aiden let Bo off the leash and followed. Aiden found out that Bo had found the speed meter.

Everyone shouted “Bo saved Christmas!!!”

Santa gave them all a sleighbell for a thank you gift and gave Bo seven big and yummy dog bones. The end.

Christmas Story

Timofei Zonov

Two days before Christmas, there was a big blizzard. The snow was very bright and thick, and the children were having fun outside. Meanwhile, the adults were warming up near their hearths. The gale continued until Christmas. The squall was so strong that it disrupted the electricity in the whole town.

In one house sat a boy relaxing on the sofa. When the electricity stopped, he screamed in surprise. He stood up and sprinted into the kitchen. He asked his mom: ”What happened?”

”The blizzard was so strong that it broke an electric wire.”

“So, what will we do?”

“We will use candles for light. That is all that will change.”

”What will the other people do?”

”I don’t know.”

Then this boy started thinking about what he could do to help the other people. He looked out the window at the gym across the street and got an idea.

“Mom I have an idea! We could put tables and candles in the gym.”

“Ok. You can do it. I will not go.”

“Ok! I will go door to door to tell people to go to the gym for dinner and ask them to bring some food too.”

The boy went to each house and went door to door in the dark village. He convinced a lot of people to go to the gym. Once there, people began talking together instead of spending Christmas on the internet. This boy accomplished so much!
