Park setting for Friday night music

Local musicians entertain at Rotary Pavilion

To hear some “Sounds of Summer” on long, lazy Friday nights through the end of August, all families and friends need to do is head down to Willingdon Beach, sit in the park and listen to the local band playing on the Rotary Pavilion.

With the exception of Sea Fair weekend, there will be a wide range of music to appreciate from 5 to 8 pm starting Friday, July 20.

“Come on down, relax and catch some tunes at one of Powell River’s beautiful settings,” said Dave McMaster, a musician involved in organizing the event.

Each Friday Night Live session has been sponsored by First Credit Union and Rockit Music Store. Performers are scheduled ahead of time so this is not a jam session. However, anyone wishing to perform still has a chance to jump on board by contacting McMaster 604.485.7714, [email protected], or by signing up at Rockit located on Alberni Street.

“This event is set up to showcase local talent of all ages,” said McMaster. “It is a family-friendly activity in our wonderful town.” People are asked to refrain from bringing alcohol to the event.
