Powell River Public Library releases Most-Borrowed List for 2021

Staff perseveres through health restrictions and flood, and 'people got their books'

Powell River Public Library (PRPL) has released its Most-Borrowed List (below) for 2021.

“It was another weird and wild year for the library, juggling health order restrictions and an unexpected flood, but the team persevered and the people got their books,” stated assistant chief librarian Natalie Porter.

PRPL continues to see strong circulation from the digital collection as well, with eBooks and eAudiobooks available for free with users’ library cards through Overdrive via the Libby app, she added.

“It was encouraging to see Indigenous authors like Michelle Good, Robin Wall Kimmerer and Jesse Thistle on the lists, and for the kids, Kazu Kibuishi’s graphic novel series Amulet dominated,” stated Porter. “We wish qathet region residents happy reading in 2022.”

For the latest updates, check the library’s Facebook and Instagram pages, or go to prpl.ca.
