Satirist returns for laughs and dancing

Todd Butler to play show at Brooks Great Hall

Todd Butler, musical satirist and regular CBC contributor, is coming to Powell River for a workshop at Brooks Secondary School and a comedy and dance night at the Great Hall.

Butler will be in town on Friday, September 30 to work with high school music students and give a guitar demonstration, something he has done a number of times before.

Later that evening, Butler will also be performing at an adults only comedy show and dance. He will first perform a solo comedy set featuring his trademark satirical songs before settling into a trio configuration to play a dance set of well-known classic

rock and rhythm and blues.

For 10 years running, Butler played at the Sunshine Music Festival and has also played other gigs in Powell River. Butler said his comedy set will feature satirical songs and musical parody about current events.

Tickets for the evening show are $15 available at The Knack, River City Coffee, Brooks, at the door or by phone 604.483.3171. The show begins at 8 pm and is scheduled to run until midnight. Butler will be selling CDs at the show.
