World renowned tenor performs

Ringing top notes and spine-tingling power to heat up the Max

Audiences have the rare opportunity to hear Richard Margison in person on May 31 as part of the Powell River Academy of Music concert series. Hailed for his ringing top notes and spine-tingling power, Canada’s world renown tenor is one of the most critically acclaimed singers on the international stage today.

Margison performs regularly in many of the world’s leading opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Deutsche Oper Berlin, San Francisco Opera, Théâtre Royale de la Monnaie in Brussels, Covent Garden, Sydney Opera and Grand Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona.

In his 2010-2011 season, Margison has been cast as Calaf in Puccini’s Turandot, Manrico in Il Trovatore, Cavaradossi in Tosca and Bacchus in Adiadne auf Naxos. Margison is currently touring BC with acclaimed pianist Inza Tyrrell.

Margison will be on stage at 8 pm, Tuesday, May 31 at Max Cameron Theatre. Tickets are $30, with students aged 18 and under admitted free with a student ticket voucher. Tickets are available from the Academy Box Office, 7280 Kemano Street, Monday through Thursday between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm, and at the door 30 minutes prior to the concert.
