Active transportation proposal presented to Powell River Council

Councillors hear from Sunshine Coast Tourism director

At a City of Powell River Council meeting on March 21, councillors heard a presentation on the Connect the Coast active transportation proposal, which proposes to create an active transportation corridor between Langdale and Lund, along Highway 101.

Presenting were Annie Wise, executive director of Sunshine Coast Tourism, and consultant Gavin Davidson. The pair had previously made a presentation to qathet Regional District, which can be found here: prpeak.com/local-news/active-transportation-corridor-proposed-from-langdale-and-lund-8406582.

According to an executive summary in a report presented by Wise and Davidson, estimated construction costs range from $2.4 to $7.6 million per kilometre.
