BC Ferries has cancelled all sailings from Comox to Powell River for Friday, January 3, due to adverse weather conditions resulting from high winds.

According to a BC Ferries travel advisory, the 3:25 pm and 7:10 pm Salish Eagle sailings departing Comox have been cancelled.

BC Ferries had previously cancelled the two morning sailings from Comox.

According to a travel advisory from BC Ferries, the safety of its passengers and crew is of primary importance to them.

“We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations,” the advisory stated. “We will resume service as soon as it is safe to do so. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of these cancellations.”
