BC Ferries cancels Comox-Powell River route sailings

NO SERVICE: The afternoon and evening ferry sailings between Powell River and Comox have been cancelled for September 29 because of high wind conditions.

BC Ferries has announced that the Salish Eagle sailings for the remainder of the day (September 29) have been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions – high winds.

Cancelled are the 3:25 pm sailing departing Comox (Little River), the 5:15 pm departing Powell River (Westview), the 7:10 pm departing Comox and the 8:45 pm departing Powell River.

According to a BC Ferries travel advisory, the safety of passengers and crew is of primary importance.

“We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations,” the advisory stated. “We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of this cancellation.

“Our goal is to inform our customers as early as possible of any changes to our scheduled sailings.
