Due to crew availability on the Queen of Alberni, BC Ferries has cancelled the following October 5 sailings:

5:30 pm departing Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) to Langdale (Sunshine Coast)
6:25 pm departing Langdale (Sunshine Coast) to Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver)

Other sailings on this route are expected to proceed as scheduled.

"We require a specific number of crew members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations," stated BC Ferries. "The decision to cancel a sailing in these circumstances is made when we have exhausted all options to find replacement crew. That said, if circumstances change and replacement crew become available, we will notify customers immediately."

Customers with bookings on these cancelled sailings will be contacted to let them know if space is available on an alternate sailing later in the day, or if their booking must be cancelled, according to BC Ferries. In the case of a cancellation, fees and/or fares will be refunded.
