At the May 26 regional board meeting, qathet Regional District (qRD) approved grant applications under the Canada Community-Building Fund.
The first is to sponsor an application from the Gillies Bay Improvement District for a water system infrastructure upgrade/expansion. The second is to sponsor an application from the Van Anda Improvement District for a water system infrastructure upgrade.
The board will also direct staff to submit an application for grant funding for the regional district construction of a commercial solid waste transfer station.
Finally, staff will be directed to submit an application for the qRD risk management framework, which would involve the services of a qualified consultant to develop a risk management framework.
