CHEF MOVING ON: Chef Will Taylor is moving onto bigger things after a two-year stint at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164’s Sunset Bistro.

For the past two years, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 has had chef Will Taylor at the helm in the kitchen. Thursday, March 16, was his last day and Legion staff and patrons sadly said their goodbyes.

Chef Will, as he was called, brought in a revamped menu to the Sunset Bistro and boosted its presence as a go-to food destination in the community. Located on Alexandra Street, just off Marine Avenue in Powell River, Taylor regularly posted specials on social media, and brought coherence and continuous offerings to bistro patrons.

“My whole experience with the Legion and the Sunset Bistro was wonderful,” expressed Taylor.

He said his most memorable moment was when he catered the Timberlane Quilters Guild Christmas party last December.

"It was for about 35 to 40 people."

Tonight, the Legion is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party with live music, to honour the Irish Saint who died in the fifth century and is now celebrated globally.
