MAKING CONNECTION: Work is being carried out to connect Wildwood with the consolidated wastewater treatment plant [above] in Townsite.

Commencing December 13, Graham Infrastructure will be starting the first of the conveyance works that will carry liquid effluent from Wildwood down to the under-construction consolidated wastewater treatment plant in Townsite.

According to a City of Powell River media release, the work will be along Highway 101 (Lund Street) in Wildwood between the existing Wildwood lagoon and Sutherland Avenue.

There will be traffic disruptions during this period, the release stated. Some work will be along the shoulder of the southbound traffic lane, and other work will be within the southbound traffic lane itself. Traffic management with flag crews and other ministry of transportation and infrastructure-approved methods will be employed throughout the duration of construction in this area, according to the release.

Work will continue on Highway 101 in Wildwood until December 23, at which time the site will be secured for the holiday break. Work will restart on January 3 and will continue for the first several months of the year, the release stated.
