Bylaw amendments
At the City of Powell River meeting on april 18, final adoption was given to a bylaw to amend the City of Powell River business licence bylaw by replacing and deleting several definitions, including short-term and vacation rentals.

Final adoption
Councillors gave final adoption to a development procedures bylaw to define procedures under which an owner of land may apply to the city to amend an official community plan, a zoning bylaw or a land use contract.

Makes presentation
Concerned Citizens of Powell River spokesperson Dean Gerhart appeared before council regarding community engagement and a poll for the possible name change of the city. He provided councillors with an overview of research he had done into Israel Powell, after whom Powell River is named.
