Powell River Board of Education adopted its strategic communications plan at a meeting on September 14.

The plan includes improving communication and engagement strategies to adapt to the varying needs of the community. This includes implementing strategies that meet the preferred communication and engagement needs of students and stakeholders. Another component is promoting employee engagement in their school and organizational structure.

The strategy also calls for increased collaboration with Tla’amin Nation, qathet Regional District and City of Powell River.

The plan’s objectives include increasing awareness of the school district’s strategic plan and goals, and to build trust and credibility and elevate the school district brand with its core audiences, comprising of students, parents/guardians, staff and the community. The plan is also designed to showcase learner success.
