Representatives from Powell River Mixed Slo-pitch League made a presentation to City of Powell River council about a proposal to construct a building at Sunset Park, which would accommodate washrooms with a change room area and a kitchen service area with storage. Councillors directed staff to prepare a report about the proposal, with a recommendation.
User fees
Councillors passed a motion to not refund fees paid by users of Willingdon Beach in excess of the new annual fee that came into effect in August. Councillors also directed staff to prepare a report on a bylaw amendment that would permit the city to credit fitness instructors who paid fees in excess of $250 in 2011.
Gymnastics building
Council approved a $21,886 increase to the grant awarded to Powell River Gymnastics Society for the revised project cost and HST for the exterior building renovations project, to be funded from Powell River Community Forest Ltd.
