1. August 22
4800 block Ontario Avenue
Police received a report of a break and enter into a church. A window had been broken to gain entry. Once inside, computer equipment and possibly some food were taken. The church had been secured the night before around 6:45 pm and the break and enter was discovered at 12:30 pm. 2. August 26
Marine Avenue near Willingdon Beach
At approximately 4 pm an officer on patrol observed a scooter drive past him with what appeared to be an expired licence plate. The scooter was stopped and it was determined the scooter had been stolen from Vancouver. The driver, a 57-year-old male from Powell River, is now facing a charge of possession of stolen property under $5,000. He will appear in Powell River provincial court in November to answer to the charge.
