At 5:57 pm police responded to a report of an assault. A 16-year-old male was assaulted after crashing his skateboard. He reported that he had fallen over when a yellowish-green Volkswagen van pulled up to him and the passenger started yelling at him. The driver then got out of the vehicle, demanded to know his name and repeatedly grabbed at his shoulder. The driver of the vehicle is described as a male in his 40s with longer grey or brown hair. Anybody with information about this incident is asked to contact Powell River RCMP at 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).
