1. January 4

6800 Coburn Street

Police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle. Sometime in the previous two or three days, a van was entered at that location and a Makita 18V cordless drill, valued at approximately $400, was taken from inside. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact Powell River RCMP 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).

2. January 6

Burnaby Street

Police responded to a report of an impaired driver. The vehicle was located and stopped a short time later. The 30-year-old driver of the vehicle showed signs of impairment, so a breath sample was obtained. The breath sample provided was over the legal limit and the driver is now facing charges of impaired driving.

3. January 7

5200 block Marine Avenue

Police located an intoxicated male while conducting patrols in the area. The male showed signs of intoxication and was having difficulty walking on the side of the road without going into traffic. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and lodged in cells until he had sobered up.
