1. January 4
4600 block Michigan Avenue
At 9:50 am police received a complaint of mischief. Sometime during the night a brick had been thrown through the rear window of a parked vehicle. Anybody with information about this incident is asked to please contact the Powell River RCMP at 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).
2. January 5
7300 block Goddard Street
At 4:23 am police received a complaint of trespass. Upon arrival, a 46-year-old male was located inside a vehicle on the property. The male, who had ingested cocaine, refused to exit the vehicle and had to be removed by police. The male was taken to the RCMP detachment where he spent the remainder of the night and was released later the same morning.
3. January 8
1700 block Hollingsworth Road
At 9:26 am police responded to a complaint of mischief. An unknown person driving a vehicle with holding tanks was reported to have dumped human waste near the corner of Hollingsworth and Scotch Fir Point Road sometime between January 4 and 5. Under the Environmental Management Act the unauthorized dumping of hazardous waste is subject to a fine of $575.
4. January 10
4600 Marine Avenue
At 02:09 am police responded to a complaint of mischief at a business. An unknown person had thrown a rock at metal panels below the front windows causing approximately $100 in damage to the property. Extensive patrols were done in the area, but no suspects were located.
