1. January 18

Highway 101 near Eagle River Bridge

At approximately 1:40 pm, police received a report of an intoxicated male. The 32-year-old male was arrested at the scene for being intoxicated in public. He was released without charges later the same day.

2. January 20

Powell Lake

At approximately 2:40 pm, police received a report of a stolen boat from a lakeside resort. A blue pedal boat with the words Sea-Doo on the side was stolen sometime during the previous three months. The boat is valued at approximately $800. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Powell River RCMP at 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).

3. January 23

Cranberry Street

At approximately 9:30 pm, police stopped a vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road. While speaking with the driver, a 51-year-old male, an odour of liquor was detected. A breath sample was taken from the driver, which registered a “warn” on the breathalyzer. The driver was issued a three-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.

4. January 24

4400 block Marine Avenue

At approximately 10:33 am, police responded to a collision. A truck driven by a 17-year-old male was heading south on Marine Avenue. The driver of the truck lost control, left the road, and rolled over in a ditch on the opposite side of the road. Neither the driver nor passenger sustained any injuries, and both declined medical assistance.
