1. December 24

7100 block Thunder Bay Street

Police observed and stopped a Ford Escort travelling 107 kilometres per hour (km/h), where the posted speed limit is 50 km/h. The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver was given a violation ticket for $368.

2. December 26

Highway 101 at Lang Creek

Police stopped a Toyota pickup truck for speeding. As a result of the stop the driver demonstrated symptoms of alcohol consumption and provided two breath samples, both resulting in a fail. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the driver’s licence was seized for 90 days.

3. December 27

Joyce Avenue and Duncan Street

Another vehicle was impounded for 30 days and licence seized for 90 days after the male driver demonstrated symptoms of impairment and failed two breath samples.

Note: It takes very little alcohol to affect a person’s driving. Having a couple of drinks doesn’t mean the driver is okay to climb behind the wheel.
