David Bennett Arthur Hynd is wanted on an endorsed warrant for failure to appear on impaired driving charges in Powell River. Hynd is 28 years old. He has brown hair, brown eyes, is six feet, three inches (1.9 metres) tall and weighs 186 pounds (84 kilograms). 1. July 16

Joyce Avenue

Police stopped a vehicle that was operating at a slow rate of speed. After speaking with the 22-year-old driver it was determined he had consumed liquor. The driver provided a breath sample which registered a “fail.” He was issued a 90 -day driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the Motor Vehicle Act.

2. July 18

4600 block Michigan Avenue

Police responded to a report of an unresponsive male lying in the street. Upon arrival a 45-year-old male from Powell River was found unconscious and suffering from an apparent head injury. Investigation revealed the victim had been punched by a 21-year-old Powell River male during the course of an argument. The victim was transported to Vancouver, received treatment and is expected to fully recover. Numerous witnesses to the incident were uncooperative with police. Liquor is believed to have been an aggravating factor in this incident and the investigation is ongoing.

3. July 19

6300 block Oak Street

Police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence. Sometime between 5 am and 6 pm that day, the house was entered and approximately $1,500 in cash, some jewellery and a laptop were stolen. 4. July 20

4400 block Marine Avenue

Police responded to a report of a male laying on the road. Police attended and located the 41-year-old male who was extremely intoxicated. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and lodged in cells until he sobered up the next day, when he was released without charge.

5. July 24

3900 block Selkirk Avenue

Police received a report of a blue Toyota Tercel parked at location having been entered the previous evening and a digital camera and red backpack had been taken. Culprits forced an open window down into the door frame to gain access.
