With regard to the report in last week’s CrimeStoppers about a break and enter at Powell River Recreation Complex, the following are some stolen items of note: Authentic Roberto Loungo jersey, blue autographed; authentic Gonzaga navy blue Dan Dickau jersey autographed; authentic Suns Steve Nash purple jersey autographed; authentic autographed Trevor Linden white Canucks jersey; authentic Blue Jay Vernon Wells white jersey autographed; CFL game ball, caught at a game autographed by Dave Dickenson; autographed Travis Snider bat; Spalding TF 1000 basketball autographed by Bobby Knight; autographed baseballs from Jose Bautista, Aaron Hill, Brendon Morrow, Jose Vidro, Yuni Benancourt, Roberto Alomar, Russell Martin; Marcus Strohman autograph on ball; Aaron Sanchez autograph on ball; and Drew Hutchison autograph on ball. 4700 block Joyce Avenue
At 8:40 am Powell River Fire Rescue, along with Powell River RCMP, responded to an active fire in the wooded area behind a financial building. A large tree was fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately, firefighters were able to control and extinguish the fire immediately. Police and firefighters remind people to be extremely cautious during this dry season.
