At approximately 2:20 pm Powell River RCMP received a report of a plane crash which occurred at Powell River airport. BC Ambulance Service, Powell River Fire Rescue and the police attended. The four-seater Model PA 30 dual prop Piper Twin Commander with three people on board landed on its underbelly, coming to rest on the runway. The 79-year-old male pilot, his 63-year-old male co-pilot and the 63-year-old female passenger all escaped the plane with minor injuries. All three occupants of the plane were treated at the scene by paramedics and were not taken to hospital. Both males are Victoria residents, while the female resides in Powell River.
